How long have you been employed at Evergreen?
I have been with Evergreen for three years, transitioning between part-time and full-time roles to accommodate my school schedule.
What made you choose to work at Evergreen?
I joined Evergreen with the aim of discovering a new life passion. Being someone who values caring for others, I wanted to make a difference. Although I lacked experience in the field, Evergreen provided comprehensive training, equipping me with the necessary knowledge to do the role. After gaining familiarity with the job, the residents stole my heart, I knew I found right place. Over the past three years, my dedication to resident care has continued to grow, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to positively impact their daily lives.
What have you discovered and enjoy about our company?
Evergreen consistently puts forth its best efforts for both residents and staff, making it a truly rewarding place to work. Whether it’s a simple “thank you” from a resident or the appreciation expressed by coworkers, the team environment fosters a sense of accomplishment. I value the commitment we share and the significant impact we make on each other’s lives, as well as the lives of the residents.
A bit about myself:
I was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and lived there for five years before moving with my family to Cloquet. Outside of Evergreen, I love to spend time with friends and family. Some of my favorite activities include attending concerts, traveling, and enjoying days by the lake. I live just a few miles from work, have one sister (who also works at Evergreen!), and two dogs named Ozzy and Gunner.
What I appreciate about Evergreen:
The welcoming atmosphere at Evergreen stands out to me. Both coworkers and residents contribute to a sense of belonging. Terri’s understanding of each employee’s life outside of Evergreen goes above and beyond, fostering happiness for staff, residents, and their families. The nurses demonstrate genuine concern for the health and well-being of our residents, displaying exceptional skills in their care. The kitchen staff is attentive to residents’ preferences, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. Overall, our dedication places our residents before anything else. I recommend Evergreen to everyone, whether they are seeking a quality residence for a loved one or a fantastic workplace.
The impact working at Evergreen has had on me:
Working at Evergreen has highlighted the significant impact one can have on others, especially those who may be unable to make their own decisions based on their stage of life. Witnessing how small gestures can make a difference is incredibly rewarding. The experience has also taught me patience, generosity, and communication skills. Evergreen has provided me with a fulfilling career that I look forward to each day.
